Hi I’m Hana.

I’m the new Oomph Marketing Intern at the Boston office. I’ve been here for about a week and since you’ll be seeing my writing on the Oomph site soon, you might as well get to know some things about me.

I come from the vineyards, farms, and beaches of Eastern Long Island, New York, and I always imagined myself living well and working hard in some big, beautiful city. This dream came true two years ago when I was accepted into Emerson College as a Journalism major. Shortly after arriving, I soon realized that I really wanted to be a Marketing Communications major.

After a year of working with organizations on campus doing marketing here and there, I decided it was my time to go out and learn in the scary “real world” my parents and professors had all told me about. While on the internship hunt, I found Oomph and it was like finding your soulmate. I wanted to work somewhere that wouldn’t just make me fetch coffee or where I would just be intern #3. At Oomph, it felt like home the second Anna brought me in for my interview and I got to see the office (and the Xbox).

As you may have guessed, I do have an interest in the marketing world, being the Marketing Intern after all—but I also have a passion for the arts, design, and social media. I love studying and discussing pieces of art, artists, and literature about the two together. The Museum of Fine Arts is probably one of my favorite places here in Boston. I even went so far as to declare an Art History minor. Aligned with love for art, is my love for design. I can spend countless hours on InDesign or Photoshop making the perfect graphic. It seems fitting that I would only want to share my love of the arts and design across the internet through as many social media platforms as possible. Of course I also spend a majority of my free time on the internet, because it’s basically where my-Millennial-self lives.

Working for Oomph’s marketing team so far has been everything a college intern could want. I get to say I work with the developers that designed the portal for the 2014 Winter Olympics; I’m walking distance from a Boloco; I get to work in what is probably the best office environment, with the best view.

To see more of my writing and what I’m doing here at Oomph, keep an eye on our social media and let me know how I’m doing. Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
